About Counselling. Mandala

There are times in our lives when we might find counselling of help. We may want to explore patterns of relating because we feel in a cycle of repetitive behaviour. We may feel in crisis or recovering from trauma. Perhaps we have a sense of unease, or there is a lack of meaning. I am ready to explore with you how to look at these patterns of behaviour to promote beneficial change.
I believe we all have the capacity for personal growth and can benefit from accessing the part of ourselves that can be creative and wise. In a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment we can explore how to develop your potential and alleviate distress.
I work from an integrative background which means I can work psychodynamically by looking at patterns from the past as well as in the present through gestalt techniques and person-centred work. I can also work in a more solution-focused way if appropriate.
In addition to using more traditional talking therapy I have creative materials available which can be helpful for young people and children and am happy to explore images, dreams, metaphor and play. My recovery from a life-threatening illness a number of years ago has enabled me to be able and willing to accompany others who are struggling with questions of life and death.
